Practice Gratitude

Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving every October.  Traditional turkey, potatoes, gravy and sweet potato will be on a lot of people's plates as we give thanks for all we have and for the lives we have been blessed with.

Practicing gratitude is a great way to feel more positive about your life.  Sometimes if you are feeling down and feeling "less than", it helps if you stop and think about all the things you are grateful for.  It could be your family, friends, where you live, the bed you sleep on, the food in your fridge.  It could be your job or your education.  Everyone has things they are grateful for.

It's a good idea to practice gratitude on a regular basis.  It will make you feel instantly better in terms of filling your heart with peace and happiness.  Some people like to write out a list, some like to put it in a daily journal.  Some can work it into meditation or prayer.  You can even share your thoughts with others around meal times.

Think about the things you are thankful for.  What fills your heart and brings your comfort?

Have a great day!
