I Love Boobies Campaign

My daughter asked me to buy her an "I ♥ Boobies" bracelet the other day.  I went to a store called, "Boathouse", at St. Vital Shopping Centre in Winnipeg, and purchased her one of these colourful rubber bracelets (I am not sure where else they are sold in Winnipeg).  These bracelets are part of an awareness campaign to encourage breast self exams.  It's a creative way to get kids thinking about breast health and the importance of self-care.  Their motto is, "Keep A Breast - Check Your Self".  The trend is to wear 2, 3 or more at a time.  Kids love them!

What a great way to get kids/teenagers thinking about breast health, breast cancer and taking care of ourselves.  Find out where you can buy your bracelet at: http://www.loserkids.com/category-exec/category_id/189

Here's where you can go to find out how to do a breast self exam: Self Breast Exam

Have a great day!

Doesn't this put your daughter at risk for crude responses from boys if they saw your daughter wearing it? I would like to think everyone would be mature about a very serious illness which has been held in secret and in shame too long. But not knowng the age of your daughter, I wonder if some boys or immature kids in general - might snicker or make rude comments at her expense.

Dear Buddy,
Surprisingly, there weren't any problems with wearing this bracelet. I had my doubts at first too. My daughter is 13. It was well-received and quite popular. Some schools have banned it, though.
