Cut the Drama! Stop Complaining.
A couple of years ago I heard about this movement called, "A complaint free world". The idea is that you wear a Complaint Free purple bracelet and you don't complain when you wear it. To reduce drama in your life, one of the things you can do is stop complaining. The absence of complaints really does make you feel better. I remember taking the 30 day challenge and it was a good experience. Wearing the bracelet really did remind me not to complain and I did feel better. The bracelets were free. So far they've given out over 6 million bracelets worldwide. Take the challenge by trying not to complain, just for one day. You may find it harder than you think.
"A Complaint Free World, inc. is a non-profit, non-religious 501c3 organization which provides Complaint Free purple bracelets and other materials to help people affect positive change in their lives by becoming Complaint Free."

Anteater and Aerial Silks
I came across this video of an anteater playing with a curtain. As I was watching it, it made me think of a gymnastic routine with fabric.
Click on the arrow or go to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ZIwlxRXOQ&feature=player_embedded
I then searched for an Aerial Silks routine and found this one. I guess the anteater almost had it right! Check out this beautiful video of a very talented aerial silks gymnast doing a routine on a fabric. It's called, "Aerial Silks" and it's quite mesmerizing.

I thought the two were very similar in a funny kind of way.

Do you see 11:11?
For a long time now, I have been noticing when the clock says 11:11. This time comes twice daily, and whenever I see it, I have a good feeling. There are others that say once they start noticing it, they start seeing it more often. Whenever I see it on a clock, I take note. Sometimes I verbalize it.
What is the meaning behind this phenomenon? Some people think it's a prompt to make a wish. Some people say that it's a reminder that there are angels are watching over us.
There are even Facebook Pages devoted to 11:11. Do you ever notice when it's 11:11?

"These 11:11 Wake-Up Calls on your digital clocks, mobile phones, VCR’s and microwaves are the "trademark" prompts of a group of just 1,111 fun-loving Spirit Guardians, or Angels, and the 11:11 prompt is their way of using our innate ability for pattern recognition to let us know that they are here." Meditation Technique
The September 2010 edition of the Oprah Magazine called "O" had an article on Meditation. It was called, Learning to Exhale. The article proclaims to help people slow down time, quiet the mental chatter and savor life's breezes. The secret is to coax your mind into a state of "nondoing". Mindfulness is a technique of meditation and Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist Diane R. Gehart, Ph. D shares a lot of tips and techniques in the article and on her website so that you can learn how to meditate. Gehart specializes in areas of stress, depression/anxiety, couples, parenting, and has sections on mindfulness and happiness. I have checked out some of her resources, and audio files, and they are great. Oprah knows an expert when she sees one.
Go to Gehart's website for more info on Mindfulness Meditation Techniques: http://www.dianegehart.com/page12/page12.html.
Have a wonderful, peaceful, day.

Living Large
I recently heard and read about an older Canadian couple who won a lottery, and decided to give away 98% of it. It is a wonderful feel-good kind of story that I love to hear. This couple, Allen and Violet Large, live in Lower Truro, Nova Scotia. The Larges' won a large lottery this past summer and have been very generous in giving away most of their millions to family, and other companies and organizations that request money. So far they have given away more than $11 million. Their generosity and charitable acts have touched the hearts of people all over the world. This older couple state that they don't need the money, that they'd rather give it to those who need it. They are most happy to have each other (he's 75).
Cemeteries, hospitals, fire departments and churches have all benefitted from the Large's generosity.
Imagine winning millions, and then decided a week before you pick up your winnings that you are going to give most of it away. That must be a great feeling. If only there were more people like this in the world.
I hope that more people in the world can "Live Large" and start being more generous with their winnings. The Larges' certainly make the world a better place.

The Benefits of a Positive Attitude
A recent article from the Huffington Post describes the benefits of positive thinking and positive attitudes.
The one major benefit is living longer.
The article, Do Positive People Live Longer, highlights many studies that have concluded the benefits of positive thinking, versus a negative or pessimistic outlook. The main reason is that positive-thinking people usually have less stress in their lives. They manage stress more effectively, and less stress is good for maintaining a healthy body. Healthy bodies have a better chance of fighting off disease and infection. Ways to become more positive are also described in the article, and included are the following suggestions:
- Counting blessings is a simple way to increase positivity in your life. Make a list of five to ten things that you are grateful for that have happened in the last 24 hours, and do this every day for a month. Another ideas would be to challenge yourself to go three weeks without complaining, moaning, or criticizing.
- If you have a tendency to “make mountains out of molehills”, try out the opposite for one week. Try "making molehills out of mountains".
These simple techniques don’t sound like much, but if they become a habit, they’ll be some of the best habits you’ve ever adopted, because they might just add years to your life.

Your Name's Meaning in Numbers
I have an interest in the concept of Numerology, and I found this website that analyzes your name (usually the name on your birth certificate) and it comes up with some personality traits and other interesting information. I did mine for fun, and it seemed quite accurate. Try it out for yourself.
